Brain Awareness Week Starts Today 14th March 2022

Brain Awareness Week was founded by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives (DABI) and the European Dana Alliance for the Brain (EDAB), and is coordinated by the Dana Foundation.

Commencing today, Brain Awareness Week is the global campaign to foster public enthusiasm and support for brain science. As a firm Attwaters Accidents fully support raising the profile of brain science. We are proud members of the brain injury group, which exists to support individuals and families affected by brain injury, and the health and social care professionals working in this specialist field.

Our brains are truly miraculous and wonderfully complex. Such an intrinsic part of us, that they should be celebrated, cared for, carefully studied and understood. They are obviously so important it’s little wonder that when something causes a brain injury the consequences can be catastrophic.

The team at Attwaters exists to help and support anyone who has suffered from a brain injury sustained through personal injury or medical negligence. Our specialist experts have successfully helped many people with brain injury claims.

These cases highlight how important understanding our brains is and how greater knowledge and awareness can save lives.

Our friendly team of Personal Injury experts came to the aid of Mr Z when he experienced a bleed on the brain following an accident at work. His case was successfully resolved resulting in a multi-million payout even though the Defendant maintained a denial of liability throughout.

In the case of FB the Attwaters team recovered £4 million after a misdiagnosis resulted in FB developing pneumococcal meningitis and sustaining irreversible brain damage and deafness.

For Trevor, Attwaters was there every step of the way when his road traffic accident ended in a very serious head injury resulting in permanent brain damage. The matter was listed for trial, and although the Defendant had made some insulting offers along the way the encroaching trial date brought out a much more realistic offer, which we weighed up with the family and after careful thought they decided to accept it. No amount of money would restore Trevor to his pre accident health but some financial support can help the family through the more difficult times. We were also able to advise and set up a Personal Injury Trust to protect Trevor’s compensation.

Our brilliant Medical Negligence team helped Mrs J’s estate recover £90,000 following her delayed diagnosis case, where Doctors failed to pick up a brain tumour following yearly scans.

It is rewarding winning these very difficult cases, they are high risk but to be able to help clients get some financial recompense makes it all worthwhile. We hope you spend a little time this week acknowledging how amazing the brain is and celebrate these incredible organs.

Attwaters Accidents is the Medical Negligence and Personal Injury department of the trusted, long-established firm Attwaters Jameson Hill.
